Municipal Equipment - Company History

Municipal Equipment was established in 1971 as an Elgin-Leach distributorship dedicated to serving the unique requirements of municipal street and sanitation departments throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, and Southern Indiana. Since that time, MEI has evolved into one of the leading suppliers of refuse, recycling, and street sweeping equipment in the Midwest, serving both government and private sector customers.

MEI is conveniently located at Exit 128 off of I-65 in Louisville, KY (click here for map) and operates out of a modern, spacious facility complete with equipment showroom, sales offices, parts warehouse, and multi-bay service center. Factory trained and certified parts and service personnel ensure that our customers receive prompt, professional service response.
