Marathon RJ-500 and RJ-500HD Stationary Compactors

The RJ-500 & RJ-500HD stationary compactors are designed to handle heavy-duty waste streams. They are ideal for small transfer stations or municipal drop-off centers. The heavy-duty design and high-compaction force yield excellent volume reduction with MSW and light C&D waste streams.

The Marathon® Ramjet® RJ-500 compactor is a real workhorse. Its proven capability assures top performance in heavy commercial and industrial applications. The RJ-500 is unique to other compactors in its class, offering a large 60″ (1524 mm) wide by 82.5″ (2108 mm) long clear top opening and a 33″ (838.2 mm) deep charge box – a handy feature during peak loading times or when compacting bulky items.

The RJ-500 is stress engineered for durability. This means the strength is where it belongs – like the 1/2″ charge box floor reinforced with seven heavy-duty steel channels, the half-inch plate ram face backed with 10″ (254 mm) plus 6″ (152.4 mm) structural channels, and the rugged reinforced sides.

The large 59 1/2″ (15011.3 mm) wide by 81″ (2057.4 mm) long clear-top opening and superior strength of the RJ-500HD make it just right for large volumes or crates, skids, and other hard-to-compact industrial refuse and trash. Waste is crushed to a fraction of the original bulk.

Marathon’s RJ-500HD is engineered with extra steel to meet the demands of heavy duty industrial use. Cylinder supports, a 1″ (25.4 mm) thick breaker bar, a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) ram top and extra side supports are added for superior endurance. Also standard on the RJ-500HD are 3/8″ (9.52 mm) thick steel charge box liners and a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) thick abrasion-resistant steel plate on the charge box floor. The RJ-500HD comes standard with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) AR400 tongue-and-groove floor, as well as a remote power unit. An optional side-mount power unit is available.
